Faith, as described in the Bible, is precious. For whoever believes in Jesus Christ is given new, eternal life by God. This shows that biblical faith is much more than holding certain doctrines and beliefs to be true. Rather, it is the beginning of a relationship with the living God, Jesus Christ, who rose from the dead. This is followed by a life of faith in Jesus Christ, which is synonymous with living in a lasting relationship and fellowship with God.

People often use the word "believe" in a way that expresses uncertainty. "I don't believe the weather will be so good tomorrow" means that I basically don't know what the weather will actually be like tomorrow. That's not a belief, it's a guess. The faith that counts before God rests on God's word. For example, when Jesus says that He is the vine and we are the branches, that is a firm fact that is real today. If we do not believe, this fact has no effect on our lives. But if we believe, the lifeblood of the vine can permeate us and we bear fruit that remains.

Thus, faith brings us into the experience of what God has done! Yes, even more, it realizes all that God has planned and still intends to do. The Lord Jesus died on the Cross for the sins of the whole world - but how many were saved? Only those who believed. - He rose from the dead and never dies again, he lives in us and builds his church today. All this we can experience by believing!

This faith is a saving faith. It saves me from lostness, from sin, guilt and punishment, and rewards me with eternal life. It makes me a child of God and gives me God as a loving Father. He helps me not to become discouraged in this life with its difficulties, worries, problems and fears, but gives me strength for each new day. He makes me one with all other children of God in this world and thus brings me into a loving relationship with all others who share this equally precious faith with me.
